Packing information
Identify Your Luggage
Make sure your name, address, contact info, and destination contact information is on the inside and out of your bag. It’s also a good idea to tie a scarf or funky tape or to do something to the outside of your bags to make it easier to find.
Less is More
You only need to pack 1 week of clothing. Laundry access is available and you don’t need to worry about the water unless you are drinking it. However, heavy cotton or similar materials will take a long time to dry. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to bring your own laundry soap samples.
Packing for the Climate
Expect the weather to vary from day to day. Some days will be sunny and warm with cool evenings. Other days will be rainy and cold. Temperatures could be around 30-40F, even during the day. Expect to get wet and muddy. Most people will be dressed in athletic or outdoor type clothing. You will want to bring lots of layers and long sleeves. Bring performance blends or wool and avoid cotton.
Packing for the Culture
You should dress more modestly than you would normally. Avoid clothing that accentuates your body for visual impact. Shirts should all have sleeves (no tank tops, bare chests, or sports bras as a shirt). Pants or long shorts (no short shorts) are best, especially for the climate.
